Need a Concrete Mixer for a Multi-Storey Project? Check These 5 Things First
When a project reaches the stage where concrete has to keep moving, the question isn’t simply:
“How much is a concrete mixer?”
The better question is:
“Will this machine actually help us keep the pour moving?”
Before hiring or buying a concrete mixer, there are five things worth checking.
1. Is the machine actually available?
If you need the mixer for an upcoming pour, availability matters more than a nice catalogue photo.
Confirm:
- Is the machine currently available?
- Is it for sale, rental, or both?
- When can it be dispatched?
- Where is it currently located?
You want an answer you can put into your project schedule.
2. What can it actually handle?
Don’t compare machines by the word “mixer” alone.
Look at the actual specifications.
For example, Dova’s concrete mixer with hoist has a 500L input capacity and 350L compacted output, with a hoisting range of 15–30 metres.
That makes the lifting capability just as important to consider as the mixing capacity when you’re working on a multi-storey project.
3. What condition is the machine in?
A machine being available doesn’t automatically mean it’s ready for your site.
Before committing, ask about its operating condition and what has been checked.
You don’t want your first discovery to be a mechanical issue after the machine has already reached site.
4. How will it fit into your site operation?
Think beyond the machine itself.
Where will it be positioned?
Where will materials be loaded?
Where does the concrete need to go?
How high does it need to be lifted?
How will the machine fit into the existing site workflow?
These questions can make a bigger difference than simply choosing the machine with the lowest rental price.
5. How quickly can you get a clear answer?
This is often overlooked.
If you are already planning a concrete pour, you shouldn’t have to spend days going back and forth just to establish:
machine → availability → specification → price → delivery.
A good procurement process should make those details easy to establish.
If you need one for your project
If you’re currently sourcing a concrete mixer with hoist, send Dova your project location, construction stage, required date and approximate lifting height.
If you already know the required capacity, include that too.
Dova can then check the available machine, specifications and rental or purchase option around your requirement.
You don’t have to start with:
“How much is your mixer?”
Start with what you’re actually trying to accomplish.
Tell us what you’re building, where it is and when you need the machine. We’ll work from there.
